The company VOLS-PARTNERS, S.L. has begun the promotion of the “La Campana” desalination plant. The project presented to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge contemplates the development of the project, construction and operation of a desalination plant with an annual production capacity of 600 hm3, the product water distribution network consisting of a pipeline composed of two pipes with a diameter of 3,000 mm and a length of approximately 135 km, a regulation reservoir with a storage capacity of 230 hm3, for which a dam about 80 meters high above the channel and a dam length must be built of about 2,000 meters. To supply the energy that the facilities will consume, with an estimated power of about 400 MW, a photovoltaic plant is planned with a peak power of 2,700 MW, which will guarantee that the energy consumed by the facilities is free of greenhouse gas emissions. .

The purpose of the project is to eliminate the deficit in hydraulic resources that the Segura basin has historically suffered and to guarantee the supply of water for irrigation to the irrigation surfaces of said district. Additionally, the project will provide a solution to the serious environmental challenges faced by the Segura basin, among which it is necessary to highlight the overexploitation of aquifers and the poor qualitative and quantitative state of its water masses.

The purpose of this document is to present the technical, economic and financial proposal of the “LA CAMPANA” DESALINATION PLANT project, for its economic evaluation by credit institutions, investment funds and private capital, promoted by the company VOLS-PARTNERS SL.

The proposal is justified, as has been indicated, by the existence of a real water deficit much higher than that officially published, by the existing technical capacity to carry it out, the alliances with leading companies in the sector and the synergies with land owners. and farmers.
